Antioxidants play a key role in protecting us from cell and tissue damage and free radicals.
What you may not have known, is that muscadine grapes contain hundreds of naturally occurring antioxidants. In addition, 90% of these nutrients are locked inside the skin and the seed of the muscadine grape, which are normally discarded. For the past five years, we have been trying to figure out how to unlock those nutrients. That's how JuVn8 Smoothies came to be. As it turns out, there is a special process we are able to use that unleashes a host of valuable antioxidants into our smoothies. We puree our fruit carefully and by doing this, the seed is pulverized ... which leads to a mega-extraction of antioxidants like resveratrol, ellagic acid, and OPCs. These phytonutrients have ben studied extensively for their anti-inflammatory processes as well as the benefits to heart health.
Ellagic acid is a powerful antioxidant. In studies it has proven to inhibit cancer cell growth. It is found in muscadine grapes, but not in ordinary table grapes. Yet another reason muscadine grapes are superior.
Resveratrol is the antioxidant you hear about from red wine and peanuts. It is studied heavily for it's anti-aging benefits and for it's disease fighting processes.
Since muscadine grapes contain so many phtyonutrients, whole muscadines are currently in research involving anti-cancer benefits, cardiovascular health, immune system function, anti-inflammatory mechanisms, macular degeneration, and a host of others.
